We believe that the purpose of life is to know our creator, the God of the universe. He has revealed himself in his son, Jesus, who has showed us the merciful heart of a loving God. We believe that God wants to forgive us, to know us and restore our lives by following his compassionate will. We have stopped living for ourselves. We reject the idea that life consists of collecting the most possessions, or accumulating power and fame, or looking for satisfaction in human relationships or altered moods. Life is knowing Jesus and following him.
We want to love God and love people. We want to meet practical human needs like hunger, shelter, and loneliness. We want to reverse human sins like greed, prejudice, hatred, empty religion and injustice. We want to practice generous sharing and openness to others. We also want to be God-Seekers, believing that the greatest adventure of life is to learn to live under God’s compassionate and just direction for our lives. There is no one like this Jesus who loves us. His love sets us free to love him and love our neighbors
We are a fellowship of Jesus followers. That means we are in the process of learning to live as changed people. We try daily to look more like Jesus. Some days we do well and some days we fail. That is why we are a community of grace and truth. Grace to forgive and to seek forgiveness. Truth because real community grows when we quit pretending. We believe that conflicts and problems are best addressed and not ignored. We gather regularly to worship God, to pray, to study, to build our connections with each other, to serve each other, to reach out to needs in our community, and to keep our focus on Jesus, the one we love and follow.
